The C S Williams 1859 Grand Rapids City Directory was published by name of resident.  This makes it hard to do house and business histories.  I transcribed all the information contained in the original book, adding proper names as I found them in the 1860 census, these indicated by { }.  To make the database useful, I then sorted by street name.  It can now be seen who lived where in Grand Rapids in 1859.
